Short title, commencement and application - These regulations may be called the Port of Calcutta (Responsibility forGoods) Regulations, 1975. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. (3) They shall apply to the Port Trust of Calcutta.2. Definitions - In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires - (a) Act means the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963) (b) Port means the port of Calcutta. (c) Section means a section of the Act.3. Form of Receipt under sub-section (2) of section 42. - Govt. Regulationshttp://kolkataporttrust.gov.in/Responsibility of Goods Regs..html1 of 44/2/2014 4:44 PM  Every receipt referred to in sub-section (2) of section 42 shall be given in the form annexed to these regulations.4. Period of responsibility and the period of notice under section 43. - (1) No. responsibility shall attach to the Boardunder section 43 after a period of seven clear working days from the date of taking charge of the goods by the Board, inrespect of such goods. (2) The notice of loss of, or damage to, the goods of which the Board has taken charge shall be given within a periodof seven clear working days from the date of taking charge of such goods by the Board. Explanation. - In computing the period of seven clear working days referred to in sub-regulation (1) or sub-regulation(2) account shall not be taken of the day of taking charge of the goods.FORM( See regulation 3 )CALCUTTA PORT TRUSTPart I : Receipt under section 42 (2) of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963).Receipt for Import CargoReceipt No.......... Landed during 1st/ 2nd/3rd Shift of the ....................................... day of ............................................................. 19 from the ...............................................................................
