NIGERIAN YOUTHS AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE (NYACC)  IN COLLABORATION WITH WORLDVIEW MISSION CELEBRATES THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE (21 ST  SEPTEMBER, 2012) WITH A PUBLIC LECTURE ENTITLED: THE IMPACTS OF YOUTH BEHAVIOURAL CHANGE ON CLIMATE CHANGE  MDGs 8 GOALS 21 TARGETS 6 INDICATORS BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL 15 YEARS  CLIMATE: • Climate refers to the conditions of the atmosphere at a particular location over a long period of time. These atmospheric elements are solar radiation, temperature, humidity, precipitation (type, frequency, and amount), atmospheric pressure, and wind (speed and direction). • The best modern definitions of climate  regard it as constituting the total experience of weather and atmospheric behaviour over a number of years in a given region.  CLIMATE CHANGE: • Climate change refers to the periodic modification of Earth's climate  brought about as a result of changes in the atmosphere as well as interactions between the atmosphere and various other geologic, chemical, biological, and geographic factors within the Earth system. • Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2007) defines climate change as a change in the state of the climate that can be identified by changes in the mean and /or the variability of its properties, and that persists for an extended period typically decades or longer.  CLIMATE CHANGE: • Climate Change is one of the most topical issues in the world agenda today. Scientific evidence has revealed that climate change is an all encompassing threat and is considered the most serious threat to the survival and sustainable development of humanity. Its impacts are real and are being felt globally. • Several reports have identified Africa as the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. In addition, Africa is one of the poorest regions in the world and has been identified to be the least able to cope with the impacts.
